We are nearing the end of the 2014-2015 school year. It's hard to believe I've been here for almost two years now. Each morning when my alarm goes off, I am excited to get up and come to work.
I've been in this district since 1995. I left for two years briefly, but found my way home. I've been a part of 4 different elementary schools in RRISD. I have loved working at each one but Voigt has captured my heart. I absolutely love the people I work with and the families that are apart of our school. I think the reason we are successful with our students and making gains is due to the fact that our staff like each other, I mean really like each other. We are a close family ourselves.
May is right around the corner and I know this month will fly by. Our teachers will begin assessing our students and scheduling those parent conferences. We need and encourage all parents to come and discuss their child's growth.
May 8th is our annual PTA's Spring Fling. Our Dual Language teachers and students have been busy practicing this month to entertain you on that evening. We will have lots of food, dancing and games for children to play. I hope to see you there. Remember every ticket you purchase helps our students at Voigt. Our PTA needs you!!!
